Fostering Partnerships with Riders and Horses for over Two Decades

The Dobbs Family

For the past 20 years, the Dobbs family has built a strong reputation for producing show horses that compete at the elite level of showjumping. Kirstie and Kalvin have received top placings and both team and individual medals at international competitions such as the North American Young Rider Championships, Prix des States, and Spruce Meadows. Kalvin gained extensive international experience showing with Olympian Laura Kraut across Europe, including the Longiness Global Champions Tour. Currently, Kirstie and Kalvin compete at the Amateur level in the jumpers and hunters at top competitions across the country. Kassie  and Kiefer (siblings) and Teneen (mother) continue to support their family in equestrian endeavors.

The Dobbs family’s volunteer work for the United States Equestrian Federation and the United States Hunter Jumper Association demonstrates their commitment to horsemanship and the development of the showjumping industry. Craig helped found the USHJA Foundation and served as a board member for 12 years and received the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2010. He currently serves on the USEF Ethics Committee. At 18, Kirstie was selected to serve as USHJA’s Youth Ambassador to USEF and has served on the Horsemanship Quiz Challenge Ad-Hoc Committee for 13 years. She also served on the Zone 5 Jumper Committee and volunteered with the USHJA Foundation. USHJA has also invited Kirstie to serve on industry-wide panels to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the sport, and she received a USHJA Volunteer of the Year Award in 2019.
